Apple to move UK offices to Battersea Power Station
Over 1,400 employees to make switch to Grade II listed building in 2021
Apple has announced plans to move its UK campus to the redeveloped Battersea Power Station in London in 2021.
The Grade II listed building is currently undergoing a multi-billion pound restoration and over 1,400 Apple employees will move from its existing London offices to the new location once completed.
The mobile and computer supplier will become the siteâs largest office tenant occupying 500,000 sq ft of the central Boiler Room.
Apple said the move is âa great opportunity to have its entire team working and collaborating in one locationâ.
Datoâ Johan Ariffin, chairman of Battersea Holding Company Limited, said he was âdelightedâ to welcome Apple.
âThis move by a brand of such calibre will serve to generate even more interest in Battersea with its vibrant mix of commercial, exciting retail and residential offerings in a cultural setting designed to drive innovation and enterprise.â
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, added: âI am delighted that Apple is moving into Battersea Power Stationâ, helping to generate new jobs and economic prosperity for Londoners.
âIt is a further sign that London is open to the biggest brands in the world and the leading city for trade and investment.â
