AMUSO, THE ONLINE CASH trivia business, has set up a new London office and has hired a new director and new heads of sales and product.
Rabin Yaghoubi and Ned Walley, both former directors of strategic partnerships at Google, are the new director and head of sales respectively, while Bill Houghton, former director of products at AOL Entertainment, is Amuso’s new head of products.
The deal follows the business having finalised a US$1.5m investment from Mangrove Capital Partners, the principal investor at its launch in 2007, as well as a number of angel investors.
Amusos has 200,000 registered users. Since launching its Trivia Star micropayment-based trivia game platform in June this year, Amuso has signed commercial partnerships with AOL, Associated Newspapers, Bebo, MySpace, and MTV in Europe, and Heavy and Rap Basement in the US.
