Poll results: PoC fallout to be hottest topic at ICE
More than a third of respondents believe the impact of the new UK regime will be the major topic in London next week
When ICE Totally Gaming touches down in London next week the fallout of the UK’s new Point of Consumption tax and licensing regime will be the most discussed issue among delegates, according to more than a third (35%) of respondents to this week’s eGaming Review Poll.
The 15% gross profits PoC tax will have been active for two months by the time the three-day conference kicks-off on Tuesday morning, with both operators and suppliers forced to find ways to mitigate the hit to the bottom line.
From sector consolidation to an increasingly competitive marketing battle caused by squeezed margins, there will be plenty to discuss on the exhibition floor. However more than a quarter of respondents believe it will be product which dominates conversations.
Twenty-seven percent of respondents said the main topic of discussion will be omni-channel product strategy, with an array of innovations expected to be unveiled as the industry aims to bring the land-based and online channels closer together.
The same number of respondents (27%) said they expected big data and personalisation to be another hot topic this year.
And as more operators look to simplify the process of customising products for particular markets and take more control over their front end, 11% of respondents said APIs and customisation would be the main focus of the event.
