888poker targets casual players with new TV campaign
Operator's Live the Game adverts will launch in the UK on Wednesday and be extended to other marketing channels
888poker will launch a new TV campaign later this week as the operator continues to focus on attracting more recreational players to its site.
The firm said its new “Live the Game” campaign, which has been produced by Hometown London, was formed of three adverts aimed at casual players.
The adverts focus on three players who are always raising the stakes and one-upping each other in everyday life.
“The idea behind the concept is that for true poker players, the dynamics of poker are reflected in everything they do – it’s how they view the world,” Sivan Finn, 888 PR and marketing director, said.
“Whether they are in a dance-off, diving into a pool or even just chilling on holiday, they love to outplay each other in whatever game they’re playing. They live and breathe the game,” he added.
Finn said the TV adverts would be supported by a full multi-channel campaign over the coming weeks.
888 said that since focusing on attracting more casual players a few years ago, the operator’s poker site had risen from the 17th largest site in the UK to the second, behind only PokerStars.
