SG Gaming to launch slots in Italy with Eurobet
Crown Jewels first to go live " more games set to be released by end of year.
Scientific Games subsidiary SG Gaming has agreed a deal with Eurobet Italia which sees the company become the latest to launch tumbling reel slot games for the Italian market.
An unspecified number of games are set to be released through Gala Coral’s Eurobet Italia before the end of the year. Crown Jewels is already live as its developer Barcrest, a subsidiary of SG Gaming, also has an agreement with GameAccount Network, that agreed a similar deal with Eurobet Italia in September.
Italian regulatory authority AAMS has announced plans to issue licences in two specific windows during December, although slots with non-spinning reels are already permitted due to a loophole in the country’s legislation.
Alex Stephens, managing director of interactive business at SG Gaming, said: “Italy is a vibrant marketplace with significant growth potential for internet gaming. This is a big milestone in the evolution of our global interactive presence. Eurobet has already established a strong position in Italy.”
Probability secured its Italian licence yesterday and will also look to enter the slots market, on a B2B basis, if authorised by AAMS next month, while 888 chief executive Brian Mattingley has also told eGR he is confident of slots licensure in December.
Earlier this month, SG Gaming appointed John Docherty as director of sales and Gareth Taylor, who has previously spent four years as head of account management for GameAccount Network, as client services manager.
