888sport unveils Pokémon Go-style football game
Geo-targeted mobile game lets football fans hunt down free bets around stadiums nationwide
888sport has launched a new mobile game which bears similarities to popular geo-targeted games such as Pokémon Go and gives football fans the chance to win free bets hidden around football stadiums nationwide.
The Free Bet Hunt game, available on 888sportâs app and mobile site, shows a map that allows fans to unlock free bets that are secretly located around football stadiums.
It is available at Premier League fixtures across the season as well as the stadiums of the four Championship teams sponsored by 888sport – Birmingham City, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston North End.
Itai Pazner, senior vice president and head of B2C, 888 Holdings said: âThe Free Bet Hunt mobile game is designed to provide football fans with an innovative, interactive way to make their football predictions without taking anything away from the excitement and anticipation surrounding the pre-match buildup.
âThe initiative is another major step in providing football fans with a fully immersive betting experience and ensuring that no matter the location or time in the day, fans have the opportunity to make their bets around a match day,â added Pazner.
EGR Mobile Intelligence also understands Greek operator Stoiximan is developing a similar game for its mobile app, but will be used inside the stadiums of the clubs it sponsors in its native country, which includes Olympiacos.
