GVC overhauls tennis offering ahead of Wimbledon
New data and platform integration reduces delay time across bwin and sportingbet brands
GVC has overhauled its sportsbook tennis offer ahead of the Wimbledon Championships in July, the firm announced today.
The operator has signed new deals with IMG and Sportradar to provide bwin and Sportingbet with real-time, in-play tennis statistics, helping to reduce in-play betting delays by more than 66%.
Additionally, a revamped user interface has been rolled out, offering punters advanced visuals to improve player engagement and product usability.
Bwin has also extended its live event streaming capability.
“In a sport where the score changes by the second, having the best quality data is of paramount importance, while presenting the betting options in a user friendly way is essential,” GVC’s CPO Liron Snir said.
“We have taken huge strides in this product revamp and we will continue to fine tune it based on feedback from our players,” he added.
Bwin has marked the relaunch with a “Tennis Challenge” for players, with a prize pool of €500,000.
In related news, GVC also announced the appointment of Jane Anscombe as a new director on Tuesday.
Anscombe, who retired as a gaming analyst at Edison earlier this year, will chair the Remuneration Committee and serve on the Nominations Committee.
Lee Feldman, GVC’s chairman, commented: “I look forward to working with Jane who brings an impressive wealth of knowledge about the gaming sector and will enhance the Board’s discussions and decision-making.
“Jane is the fifth independent director GVC has recruited since joining the Main Market last year, reflecting our commitment to enhancing our corporate governance practices.”
