Campaign of the month: Just Eat
Global food delivery platform taps US artist Snoop Dogg to add hip-hop edge to love-or-hate jingle
Online food delivery service Just Eat has unveiled an updated version of its current advertising campaign featuring American rapper Snoop Dogg.
Long Beach native Snoop Dogg has put a hip-hop inspired spin on Just Eat’s ‘Did Somebody Say Just Eat’ jingle.
Developed by creative agency McCann London, marketed by BYTE London and directed by Francois Rousselet through Riff Raff Films, the advert features Snoop Dogg rap about his ‘favourite food ordering moments’ from his LA compound.
The campaign will run in seven markets across the world for one year, having started with the UK and Ireland in May.
The advert will air in Australia, France and Denmark in June, with Spain and Italy to follow in September.
Susan O’Brien, Just East CMO, said: “We know our original jingle is a bit of an opinion-divider. As much as we love it, what better way to step things up a notch than to get the help of a global legend? Snoop answered our call and created a version of the song that got us all smiling.”
“Snoop’s remix allows us to connect with a younger consumer demographic, while also providing a bit of fun for our existing customers and fans of the original track,” she added.
McCann London’s chief creative officer duo Rob Doubal and Laurence Thomson commented: “Just Eat has been an incredible partner over the last few months. We’re proud to have helped deliver a great global campaign, adapted for markets all round the world in every media channel at times like these.”
