PokerStrategy.com owner launches online trading school
tradimo, the second product to be launched by etruvian, has initially been launched in English, German and Russian.
etruvian, the Gibraltar-based owner of Power Affiliate PokerStrategy.com, has launched its online financial trading school and community, tradimo.
The product, which is still in an open beta-testing phase, allows budding financial traders to exchange opinions and strategies on matters such as forex trading, stocks and commodities. It has received more than 5,000 sign-ups since launching yesterday at noon.
etruvian head of legal Damon Barnard explained to eGaming Review that the new offering is “An online education community that is intended to educate the masses as to how to trade online…”
“While it may teach fundamental trading techniques, trading strategies and money management, we have been careful to ensure that it does not provide any form of financial advice,” Barnard continued.
PokerStrategy.com’s senior management team is involved in aspects of tradimo, however etruvian has also developed its own management team as well as recruiting new employees and freelancers.
As with PokerStrategy.com itself, tradimo is anticipated to be predominantly forum and discussion-driven, with the company hoping to develop a loyal community, and to this end etruvian has allowed all PokerStrategy.com members to sign up to tradimo with the same username they use on the poker training and affiliate site.
PokerStrategy.com has made a point of never directing American players to real-money poker sites, and etruvian’s management is aware of legal ambiguities around financial trading as well.
Barnard told eGR: “As you can imagine, financial services regulations are as much of a minefield as online gaming regulations “ most territories have some form of financial services legislation in place, but hardly any of it had a business such as tradimo in mind when it was drafted.
“It was very important to us that we do things properly and we have taken the proactive step of, prior to launch, seeking clearance from the various regulatory bodies in those territories where we would expect our launch languages to have the greatest impact and in which our partnered brokers operate,” he added.
The rollout of tradimo comes just weeks after etruvian introduced its inaugural customer service benchmark, a complex survey designed to evaluate the performance of 20 leading online poker networks and standalone sites
