Operators await AAMS slot launch green light
Majority of country's 40 licensees expected to go live between 3 December and the end of the year with Italian players expected to be faced with a flood of new content.
Operators are awaiting the final green light from Italy’s gaming regular to go live with a flood of slot games as next Monday’s first of two approval deadlines approaches, eGaming Review has learned from companies involved.
A leading supplier to a number of Italian operators told eGR this morning that it had already “teed up” more than 20 slot games with three of its launch partners there and that it was “ready to go”.
The operators, however are said to still be waiting to hear from the gaming regulator before being able to publish links and upload clients and content, and remain uncertain as to whether or not they will be able to proceed on 3 December.
“Everyone is preparing to go but there is no certainty that they will be able to go live on the allocated approval day next week,” another supplier told eGR. “We’re waiting for the regulator to authorise all the games and sites that asked for a licence but all the content is ready to go whenever they decide to announce something.”
A senior executive from a large operator, however said it was preparing to go live on Monday with around 40 classic, video and jackpot slots.
“Since AAMS’s initial decree announcing that slot games would be approved and launched on 3 December we have been approved but have heard nothing since so we are preparing to launch. We are ready to upload the clients and go live first thing next week.”
The majority of the country’s 40 licensees are expected to go live between the 3 December and the end of the year with Italian players expected to be faced with a flood of new content.
A leading local lawyer told eGR: “Everything is confirmed by the director general of AAMS. Unless we have surprises of the last minute, the launch should be on Monday. Everyone will get the authorizations at the same time, that is AAMS’s plan,” he added.
Earlier this week Gibraltar-licensed egaming operator 32Red said it had gone live with its Italian casino offering, eight months after being awarded a licence by the country’s regulatory authority. At present the site contains roulette, blackjack and video poker, however slots are expected to follow once permitted by the regulator.
The launch comes less than two weeks after fellow Gibraltar licensee Probability was awarded an Italian licence. 32Red is expected to go live with around 40 or more online slot games next week.
