PartyPoker launches Android app
Mobile app offers real-money and freeplay tables, compatible with smartphones and tablets.
PartyPoker has launched an Android app allowing users to play Texas Hold’em and FastForward Poker on smartphones and tablets.
Available to install from the PartyPoker website, the app allows customers to join freeplay and real-money tables, although the FastForward variant is only available as a real-money game, following a successful beta freeplay trial period for the product.
The highest stakes offered on the poker tables are $5/$10, after bwin.party removed all high-stakes cash tables from the PartyPoker client in July to improve it ecology.
Withdrawals and deposits must be made from the desktop client, although new accounts can be set up on the mobile app.
The Android app could provide an additional boost to PartyPoker’s player numbers, which overtook those of Full Tilt Poker earlier this week, according to PokerScout, after Bwin.com completed the transfer of its poker players from Ongame onto the PartyGaming platform. The PartyPoker network currently has a 24-hour peak of 6,364 players compared to FTP’s 5,685.
Outgoing co-CEO Jim Ryan initially announced the liquidity merger in August in a bid to become the “clear number two” behind only PokerStars.
