Nylén takes over at Mr Green
Co-founder and former CEO Mikael Pawlo will now head up new venture within Green Gaming Group.
Mr Green has appointed Marcus Nylén as its new chief executive, the Malta-licensed casino operator has announced.
Co-founder and former CEO Mikael Pawlo has stepped down from the role with the eGR award-winner to head up a new venture from the Green Gaming Group, details of which have not been revealed as it is currently in stealth mode.
Nylén was formerly CEO of Swedish-based private equity firm Fafner Invest, while he previously held a similar role with internet service provider Bredbandsbolaget.
Pawlo said of his successor: “Marcus’ dynamic leadership combined with his strong sales and marketing skills were exactly what we were looking for when searching for a new CEO. He’ll be the perfect skipper to lead the company into further growth.”
Sportech appoints new CFOSportech appoints new CFO
Sportech has announced the appointment of Cliff Baty as its new chief financial officer, following the resignation of long-serving FD Steve Cunliffe in November.
Baty, who will be based at Sportech’s head office in London and report directly to CEO Ian Penrose, will join the operator from Ladbrokes where he has spent the last seven years. He is currently serving a finance director of both its International businesses and corporate development, and was previously FD of Lads’ egaming business.
He will join the Board of Sportech and assume the role of CFO on 13 May. Cunliffe, who has been with Sportech since 2006, will be leaving the company on 6 March.

SG Gaming CEO Ian Timmis leaves
SG Gaming CEO Ian Timmis has announced he is to step down from the role after three years, the Scientific Games subsidiary has announced.
Timmis will leave the lottery specialist on 31 March and return to Australia with his family for personal reasons. Ealier in his career he worked in Sydney for game supplier Aristocrat for six years.
SG Gaming is the global gaming division of Scientific Games, comprising Global Draw, Barcrest and Games Media
PokerStars appoints new head of PR
Former PokerStars senior security manager Michael Josem has been appointed as the operator’s new head of public relations.
Josem, who has been with the operator since 2008 in a variety of security-related roles, officially begins his work in the new post today. He will be based at PokerStars’ Isle of Man office.
The Australian national first joined Stars five years ago as a senior game security specialist, having earlier contributed to the player-led investigation into the UltimateBet and Absolute Poker cheating scandal which took place largely on the Two Plus Two poker forums.
GamCare has appointed Dirk Hansen as its new chief executive, replacing Andy McLellan, who left the charity in November. Hansen most recently served as VP of a leading employee assistance programme,.
GamCare chairman Sir Anthony Jennens said: “With his unique perspective on matching business objectives with clinical best practice, Dirk will provide GamCare with all the necessary expertise and experience to enable us to fulfil our current strategic goals; both through developing more efficient operational systems, and in the continued expansion of expert prevention and treatment services for problem gambling.”
