SHFL acquires Chinese games supplier ProTec
ProTec Games bought for undisclosed amount as SHFL targets Asian market.
SHFL entertainment has announced the acquisition of Chinese games developer ProTec Games in a bid to expand its product offering to the Asian market.
The Qingdao-based casino slot and table games provider has had a working relationship with SHFL for more than a year, developing graphical assets and carrying out software development as well as testing for SHFL’s slot machines and other products.
SHFL chief executive Gavin Isaacs said of the deal: “We have been working with the ProTec team for quite some time and have been very happy with their work. To support and enhance the global growth of our slots, e-Tables and iGaming businesses, we decided to fully integrate the ProTec team into our business. We are confident that this acquisition will enable us to scale efficiently to support our growing product footprint.”
Earlier this week, GameAccount Network agreed a deal which will see it integrate SHFL’s games into its European-facing platforms and last month, former SHFL Entertainment product manager Michael Daly rejoined the company after several years with Bally Technologies, taking on the role of VP of online gaming.
