Betfred to launch TV channel ahead of Cheltenham festival
Horse and greyhound racing channel to initially be broadcast across operator's retail estate.
Betfred has announced the launch of a new television channel ahead of next week’s Cheltenham horse racing festival.
The operator, which last year extended its sponsorship of the festival’s flagship Gold Cup event after acquiring the Tote in 2011, will broadcast the channel from its 1365 shops across the United Kingdom.
It will feature exclusive content from Betfred co-founder Fred Done (pictured), and will be produced from Satellite Information Services’ [SIS] studios in Salford.
Others set to appear on the channel include former Channel 4 Racing presenter Derek Thompson and talkSPORT presenters Ronnie Irani and Alan Brazil.
Done said: “It’s exciting times and the most important part of the channel will be to entertain and inform punters. At the end of the day we are in the entertainment industry and this is a great platform.”
