Ladbrokes leads the way for money-back offers
Operator's 'What a Finish' promotion helps it top Freebets.com chart ranking best value
Ladbrokes has topped the inaugural chart rating bookmakers’ money-back specials, compiled by sportsbook affiliate Freebets.com.
Freebets used proprietary algorithms to rate a selection of 16 leading operators on the special promotions they offered around events and markets, aiming to develop a system to track which sportsbooks offered best value to customers.
The company’s owner David Archer explained that his firm decided to start keeping track on money-back offers after this year’s Cheltenham Festival. He described the rankings as a system to “help customers get the most out of their betting experience by determining which bookies offer consistent value”.
The affiliate based its rankings the number of money-back offers available, the free bet or cash refund value, the likelihood of the event needed to activate the offer and the number of events and markets eligible for the promotion.
Ladbrokes’ high rating was due in part to its ‘What a Finish’ promotion, which refunds bets on horses that lose races by a neck or less. However, Paddy Power, ranked second in the table, also offered a higher refund value of £100, while Lads tended to cap its money-back offers at £25.
Paddys also offered special offers on a higher range of sports, giving customers the chance to win back their stakes on 10 sports, compared to Ladbrokes’ eight.
