Poker manager Gary Oakes to leave Genting
Oakes has been with the operator for more than three years " Former William Hill poker head James Lowe appointed as his replacement
Genting Alderney head of poker Gary Oakes is set to leave the operator at the end of this month, eGaming Review has learned.
Oakes has been with the operator since 2010, working on its online room on Playtech’s iPoker network as well as its live tour, the Genting Poker Series. Genting is one of the larger operators on the lower tier of iPoker, having failed to meet the criteria for inclusion on the upper tier when the network split in two last year.
The operator has appointed James Lowe as Oakes’ replacement. The former Sky Bet and Dusk Till Dawn employee spent three years in a similar role with William Hill, working specifically on the firm’s poker operations in the UK, Spain and Greece.
Oakes will initially move on to consulting work, and told eGaming Review he intends to remain within the egaming industry.
During Oakes’ time with the Power 50 Operator, Genting signed a landmark affiliate agreement with the Hendon Mob poker community, launched the Genting Poker Series which is now in its second season, and signed up Dusk Till Dawn to a three year deal to provide DTD branded poker software.
