Playscan to launch responsible gambling tool into China
Swedish monopoly operator's subsidiary collaborating with FuSheng Interactive and Northberry AB
Playscan AB, a subsidiary of Swedish Monopoly Svenska Spel, is partnering with Sweden’s Northberry AB and FuSheng Interactive of Hong Kong to expand its responsible gambling tool Playscan into the Chinese market.
The move represents Playscan’s first major expansion since Andreas Holmström was appointed as the company’s new chief executive in February this year.
Consumer protection has been prioritised and highlighted globally, notes Holmström. “With the changes in gaming regulation this year, the Chinese government is now taking a stronger stance on the prevention of problematic gambling,” he added.
“We believe Playscan to have great potential in China and FSI will give full support on the development,” added FuSheng Interactive chairman Anders Holmgren.
Playscan promotes to highlight problem gambling and reduce its effects by monitoring a player’s behaviour and predicting their future gambling habits, demonstrating if there’s a tendency to fall into unhealthy gambling. Data is also shared with the operator, enabling them to proactively prevent problematic gambling.
The tool uses customised communication, providing the operator with a way of communicating with players with more specific and to-the-point information, tailored to an individual’s interests.
Svenska Spel acquired Playscan, which was developed by the operator in conjunction with ICU Intelligence and the Swedish Gaming Institute, in April 2010.
