William Hill signs Microgaming content deal
Operator to diversify casino offering with casino and mobile content from Quickfire " Playtech deal unaffected
William Hill has launched an online and mobile casino offering from software provider and Microgaming in a move the UK-based firm said would diversify and expand its product offering.
The Flash and mobile content went live on the Quickfire open platform this month and William Hill’s director of gaming James Curwen told eGR that its latest deal would not affect its existing relationship with Israeli supplier Playtech.
The operator bought out Playtech’s stake in its William Hill Online arm in April for £424m, with Playtech CEO Mor Weizer saying at the time “we look forward to our strong supplier relationship continuing”.
“There is no impact on our relationship with Playtech “ they remain an important partner of ours, and we have recently launched a number of games using them, Curwen said”. “This is simply about diversification, and expanding our offering to our customers.”
“The agreement with Quickfire, powered by Microgaming, will provide our players with world-class gaming content,”he added. “Microgaming’s expertise in the industry and its rapid development of new content will strengthen our position globally; we look forward to working with them closely.”
William Hill is the second operator to integrate Microgaming-powered Quickfire’s content in recent months with Microgaming also partnering with Isle of Man-licensed 188Bet. Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said the software provider was confident the new collaboration would “prove fruitful for both parties and go from strength to strength.”
