Egaming boosts WMS Q4 revenues
Williams Interactive division sees revenues increase nearly fifteen-fold to $17.4m
Strong growth from the egaming arm of WMS Industries has helped the US gaming supplier post a 4% year-on-year revenues increase for the three months ended 30 June.
Fourth quarter revenues from the firm’s Williams Interactive division increased to $17.4m, compared to $1.2m in the same period last year. Annual interactive revenues also rose significantly from $4m in fiscal 2012 to $57m in 2013, with WMS highlighting the success of its social casino offering Jackpot Party and its UK-based online casino as key growth contributors.
WMS, which was acquired by Scientific Games in January, saw total revenues rise from $195.9m in Q4 2012 to $202.8m in 2013. Gaming operations revenues also increased 33% year-on-year to $83.4m, compared to $62.8 in the corresponding quarter last year.
Commenting on the revenues generated from the supplier’s interactive division, chairman and CEO Brian Gamache said the firm was pleased with its performance and believes growth will continue in the future.
“We are highly encouraged by the successful development efforts and growth initiatives of our interactive products and services during the past year and expect to achieve additional growth in fiscal 2014 as we further monetise key game launches and realise ongoing benefits from the recent expanded availability of our Jackpot Party Social Casino in tablet and mobile device channels,” he said.
“We are confident that our interactive gaming initiatives and distribution opportunities for our content and games in these growing channels is a source of significant long-term growth potential for the company,” Gamache added.
Williams Interactive was launched in July 2012 and recently signed a deal to provide slots content to 888’s Dragonfish bingo platform.
