Operator claims to have launched the first fully live Bitcoin casino
Satoshi has introduced live dealer action to its satoshilive.com platform, claiming to be the first fully live casino to accept the digital Bitcoin (BTC) currency.
Live dealer blackjack, roulette and baccarat games have been added to the Satoshi Live online platform, with the offerings available on any internet browser, tablet, smartphone, or Smart TV.
Satoshi has custom-built proprietary video streaming technology in order to facilitate the launch, incorporating both Flash and HTML5 platforms.
“This is the first live Bitcoin casino of its kind, with no other Bitcoin gaming platform boasting fully live, interactive gaming, allowing gamers to interact directly with dealer via live video feeds,” said a Satoshi spokesperson.
Jeremy Liew, a partner at Lightspeed Ventures, estimated that at least half of all Bitcoin transactions were used for online gambling, with various Bitcoin betting platforms having been launched in recent months.
Switzerland-based software provider BETTING’s launched a sports betting platform for the currency last month, with the company stating less taxation, player anonymity and irreversible payment transactions as key advantages that Bitcoin has over more traditional currencies.
Bitcoin gambling site SatoshiDice sold for 126,315 BTC ($11.5m) in July this year having launched in April 2012. Bloomberg estimated the site had taken in more than $15m in bets, with the site reporting earnings of more than $500,000 in January.
