Unibet to launch new mobile casino app
Stockholm-listed operator to debut new native casino app Spin City in coming weeks, featuring a range of Quickspin-developed slots
Unibet is set to continue its aggressive product expansion strategy as it prepares to launch a “market first” Relax Gaming-powered native mobile casino app, eGaming Review has learned.
Spin City will debut on smartphones and tablets for iOS and Android devices and will feature blackjack, roulette and four Quickspin-developed slots titles including Big Bad Wolf and Treasure Island.
The app is currently awaiting approval from the testing house Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and the Swedish-listed operator is optimistic it will be live within two weeks on Android and three weeks on iOS.
Daniel Eskola, head of gaming at Unibet, told eGR the operator is confident the native app will find success with its customers after bypassing HTML5.
“Players will notice that with the games being built natively, the quality of the games will be visually superior and faster than the current HTML5 content on the market,” he said.
“Additionally, players will enjoy a completely new loyalty mechanic, which we believe is more suited to mobile gaming and are sure will be preferred to regular bonus schemes,” Eskola added.
Unibet’s Maria brand is also scheduled to release the same application under the brand name Spin Me just weeks after the launch of Spin City.
The release of the new app will also be backed by a new “fast-paced” casino advertising campaign, in partnership with creative agency Home, which is set to launch in three weeks’ time.
The news follows the recent launch of the operator’s new Relax Gaming-powered poker client which has been developed to target casual poker players.
Unibet has since begun a major UK-focused advertising six-week marketing campaign to coincide with the release of the product including TV adverts across all SKY TV channels.
