Rank digital overhaul continues with Quickspin deal
UK operator to take on Quickspin video slots as its digital overhaul continues to take shape
The Rank Group has signed an agreement with games developer Quickspin for a portfolio of video slots games as the operator continues to reboot its digital sites.
The operator, which owns the Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino brands, revealed in January that it was to overhaul its digital business after recording a poor set of H1 FY14 results which saw operating profit from its bingo business slump by 40%.
Rank Group CEO Ian Burke outlined plans to redesign websites and overhaul its online games offering, with a particular focus to be placed on mobile products.
The new contract will see Stockholm-based games studio Quickspin deliver its complete portfolio of video slots games to be integrated on both Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino sites.
“The content from Quickspin will not only give our existing customer a great gaming experience, but also add value and competitiveness to our portfolio when attracting new players,” Alex Franklin, head of games at Rank, said.
The deal is Rank’s third in as many months following a new contract with customer identification firm Jumio and a three-year extension to its existing contract with Playtech bingo subsidiary Virtue Fusion which will see Mecca Bingo remain on the platform until 2017.
Rank last week announced that Burke is to be replaced as CEO by former William Hill Online chief Henry Birch in May, with the former stepping into a non-executive chairman role.
