Sky Bet full-year revenues soar 19%
Leeds-based operator records £183m in revenues following significant investment in mobile product and marketing
Sky Betting and Gaming has recorded a 19% year-on-year increase in full-year revenues as its investment into refining its mobile product continues to pay-off.
According to figures released today by parent company BSkyB, Sky Bet revenues for the 12 months ended 30 June 2014 rose to £183m after a 29% year-on-year surge in mobile users.
The Alderney-licensed operator has invested heavily in its four key mobile products “ Bet, Vegas, Poker and Bingo “ and was the first operator to unveil a seamless login function which has since been extended across all its apps.
BSkyB CEO Jeremy Darroch said Sky Bet had grown “strongly” during the 12-month period as the Leeds-based company prepares to utilise its sponsorship of the Football League even further.
The operator recently partnered with ad agency M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment to develop a new campaign aimed at promoting the operator’s headline partnership.
Sky Bet originally signed a last-minute deal to become title sponsor of all three Football League divisions just before the start of the 2013-14 season.
“The coming together of Sky Bet and the Football League gives us the perfect opportunity to engage with millions of football fans spanning 72 communities,” Rob Painter, Sky Bet’s marking director, said recently.
This morning’s results also saw BSkyB confirm the acquisition of Sky Italia and 57.4% of Sky Deutschland from 21st Century Fox for a total consideration of £5.3bn.
Sky Bet previously cited the independence of Sky Italia and Deutschland as a key barrier to entry into these markets.
