Unibet's Maria.com to launch new poker product
Female-focused brand to utilise new Unibet Poker network for 2015 relaunch following removal of Microgaming poker product earlier this year
Unibet Group subsidiary Maria is to launch a new poker product next year as it looks to re-enter the vertical following Unibet’s decision to leave Microgaming’s MPN network earlier this year, eGaming Reviews has learned.
The operator’s female-focused brand removed its Fast Poker tab from Maria.com at the same time Unibet launched its new poker client in February.
Dersim Sylwan, Sweden country manager for Maria.com, told eGR that a new product, which would utilise the same software as Unibet Poker but with some adjustments to match Maria’s brand values, was under development.
“Today, we are primarily a casino brand but we know that our target audience play poker so it’s an important product for us,” Sylwan said. “It’s also a very interesting product because of the cross selling potential,” he added.
Maria recently launched a new casino-only app Spin Me featuring games from Swedish slots supplier Quickspin as well as tokens and game rewards instead of traditional casino bonuses.
“The Spin Me app offers a unique and new gaming experience,” Sylwan said. “It’s built completely as a Native app taking advantage of all the benefits that comes with such as improved graphics, sound and customer experience.”
Spin Me is the second mobile app released by the brand following the traditional Maria app with both apps sharing the same wallet and customer login.
Unibet revealed it was to leave the MPN in December 2013, with the company stating that being a part of a poker network was “not sustainable for Unibet in the long term”.
