Sky Bet rolls out “industry first” Touch ID mobile log in
Operator due to complete full roll-out of functionality later today after “overwhelmingly positive” feedback
Sky Betting & Gaming has become the first egaming operator to integrate Apple’s TouchID technology into a mobile betting application.
The operator integrated the technology into its Sky Bet sportsbook app and conducted internal testing prior to a phased roll-out of the functionality last Tuesday after receiving approval from Apple.
Customers can log into the app using their fingerprint instead of a password or PIN, and internal testing revealed customers could log into their account up to four times quicker using the process.
Andrew Walton, head of mobile at Sky Betting & Gaming, told eGaming Review the functionality was initially introduced to 10% of its customer base on Tuesday before a number of checks were conducted to ensure the log-in process was unaffected.
Betfred adds live streaming to sportsbook
Betfred has integrated live streaming into its online sportsbook as part of a major upgrade released this week.
The operator teamed up with content providers At The Races and Racing UK to introduce live coverage of UK and Ireland-based horseracing for both its desktop and mobile products.
Streaming services were added to the mobile app last week ahead of the desktop product, which is due to receive live streaming later today.
Speaking to eGR, Joe Ellis, sportsbook development manager at Betfred, said that providing customers with the ability to watch races they have bet on was an “essential addition” for the operator.
Seven days in launches and sign-ups:
Sky Bet trials iBeacon tech at football stadiums
Sky Betting and Gaming has begun trialling Apple’s iBeacon technology at two English Football League stadiums as the operator continues its mobile innovation push.
The firm is using the technology to send localised push notifications to match-goers at Leeds United’s Elland Road and Rotherham United’s New York Stadium grounds via Bluetooth from its mobile app.
iOS users at matches can opt-in to receive notifications such as a welcome message from Sky Bet which when swiped takes the user to the football page within the Sky Bet app.
Winamax debuts “incognito” poker tables
French operator Winamax has become the latest in a number of major poker operators to add anonymous player tables to its poker client.
The new “incognito” feature enables players at cash game tables to hide their table name from other players, while table chat is also disabled to ensure anonymity.
Incognito tables are available from a list of six game-types at all stake levels on the desktop client, iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
Coral Interactive signs up with Odobo
Coral Interactive has become the fourth major operator to sign up to content supplier Odobo’s online marketplace and integrate its suite of HTML5 casino games.
The Gibraltar-based operator will be able to select from Odobo’s range of third party casino content, including a number of exclusive titles, and will also be able to utilise Odobo’s consumer-facing Odobo Play tool which allows developers to market their games directly to Coral customers.
Coral Interactive follows bet365, Betfair and Unibet in signing a content deal with Odobo and Angus Nisbet, gaming director at Coral Interactive, said he had been impressed by the diversity of games on offer.
Italian regulator offers boost to in-play operators
Italian regulator AAMS has made a crucial amendment to its bet settlement requirements enabling operators to offer a greater number of in-running markets.
The amendment relates to the Palinsesto Complementare – bets offered in addition to AAMS’ official schedule – for which operators were required provide the regulator with at least two sources of information for bet settlement purposes.
A number of operators highlighted that information on certain in-running markets, such as next corner betting in a specific time frame, was not always available through official sources.
