Bet365 maintains Oddschecker lead
Operator holds-off challenge from Betfair to retain its position at the top of Oddschecker's monthly rankings
Bet365 held onto its position at the top of Oddschecker’s monthly bet slip click rankings for December, despite seeing its November lead more than halved.
The operator secured an overall slip click market share of 18.52%, a decrease on the 19.18% it had amassed the previous month, although the figure was enough to keep ahead of long-term Oddschecker rival Betfair, which remained relatively unchanged on 17.89%.
However, the make-up of Betfair’s percentage continued its recent trend towards a greater proportion of sportsbook clicks with the exchange down from 14.48% to 14.16%, while its sportsbook increased from 3.34% to 3.73%.
BetVictor managed to regain some of the ground it lost in November, posting an improved market share of 11.24% to help it cement third place.
The battle for fourth saw Paddy Power reclaim the position following a strong month in which its total increased from 7.92% to 8.84%, while William Hill dropped to 8.21% from 8.09%.
Coral held sixth spot with 6.49% while Sky Bet and Ladbrokes posted seventh and eighth placed positions with 5.82% and 5.66% respectively.
Meanwhile, Stan James remained in ninth place with 2.7% while Betfred held tenth on 2.62% ahead of Boylesports on 2.31%.
Horse racing slip clicks can shape a bookie’s month and December was no different after bet365 topped the chart with 21.77%, slightly lower than its 22.52% in the previous month, with Betfair on 20.46% and Paddy Power next on 8.82%.
BetVictor continued to lead on UK football slip clicks during a period which included the busy British festive football schedule. The Gibraltar-based bookie accumulated 20.13%, comfortably ahead of bet365 on 15.27% and Betfair on 15.02%.
