Metro Play launches BetConstruct-powered sportsbook
666BET-owned operator diversifies product range with the launch of its first sports betting product
666BET-owned Metro Play has launched a BetConstruct-powered sportsbook as it begins its transition into a multi-vertical operator.
Metro Play Sportsbook is now live on desktop and mobile and currently features various betting markets for a number of sports including football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey and handball.
“We are very pleased [â¦] to extend our relationship with 666BET’s group of companies,” George Voyatzis, BetConstruct’s commercial director, said.
“Metro Play will now offer their players a significant number of UK focused markets including horse racing as well as novelty events,” he added.
The launch of the Metro Play Sportsbook comes after 666BET switched to the BetConstruct sports betting platform from Novigroup in December, in addition to new a mobile offering and new payment provider under Metro Play’s Alderney licence.
Plans for Metro Play to offer sports betting were first reported by eGaming Review in November after the online casino operator’s website underwent a complete redesign integrating EveryMatrix’s new CMS system.
666BET acquired Metro Play from DMG Media in September for an undisclosed fee and said it plans to be involved in further M&A activity in the future.
eGR recently revealed 666BET’s chief executive Barry Martin had relinquished his role to take up a new consultancy position at KPI Gaming Consultants where he continues to advise the Isle of Man-based firm.
