Paf expands its tech education programme to 70 places
Åland Islands-based firm boosts coding lab capacity from 50 seats to 70 starting in August
Paf’s teacher-free programme on coding, grit:lab, has extended its capacity by 20 to meet increasing demand from students.
The 100% project-based course has already seen all of its student slots filled for the upcoming course at the end of August.
It has attracted students from more than 20 different countries and just over a third from the operator’s homeland of Åland.
The students have already completed phase one of the programme, which was the application process known as Piscine.
Piscine was a four-week introduction to what grit:lab has to offer, giving students a taster of the course to see if it is the right fit for their requirements.
The next stage will see students start their journey towards becoming software developers.
Commenting on the popularity of the course, Anna-Lena Svenblad, corporate development director for Paf and co-director for grit:lab, said: “This is a good decision and response to the demand that has arised. There is a big potential in these students and we have decided to give them this great opportunity now. “
The expansion to the grit:lab programme comes after Paf recently posted a 105% year-on-year increase in full-year profit for 2021.
