PMU names new marketing chief
Marketing veteran Samuel Loiseau fills role vacated by Cyrille Giraudat who left last year to join Europcar
Pari Mutuel Urbain’s (PMU) has hired Samuel Loiseau from French telecommunications firm SFR as its new director of marketing to replace Cyrille Giraudat.
Loiseau began his role at the former French monopoly on Tuesday and will oversee the company’s digital marketing capabilities and customer services team, while also taking a place on the firm’s board of directors.
Prior to joining PMU Loiseau spent 10 years at tech firm Société Française du Radiotéléphone (SFR) where he held numerous marketing roles including marketing manager, marketing director and most recently brand, market research, and retail director.
Loiseau, who also previously worked at American food manufacturing giant Kraft Foods, replaces former marketing director Cyrille Giraudat.
Giraudat left the operator in December after a 10-year tenure to join car rental firm Europcar following former PMU chairman and chief executive Philippe Germond who joined Europcar in September.
The former CEO was replaced by its elected managing director Xavier Hürstel following a meeting of the General Assembly in October, taking on the role he’d held on an interim basis for month.
Earlier this year PMU reported a 2.9% year-on-year decline in turnover from its online business during 2014 140.1m following a double-digit fall in its core horse racing betting market.
Total turnover from the French operator’s online arm stood at 1.7bn during the 12-month period with turnover from horse racing falling 11% year-on-year to 843m.
