Mansion rejigs management team as CEO stands aside
COO Sagi Lahav to succeed Guy Gussarsky who will take a seat on the board from 1 April
Mansion Group has rejigged its management team after announcing long-serving chief executive Guy Gussarsky will stand down from his role on 1 April.
In a statement, Mansion said Gussarsky, who joined the poker and casino operator as CEO in 2007, will take up a position on the board and current chief operating officer Sagi Lahav will be promoted to the top job.
Mansion also revealed Lahav’s COO responsibilities will be handed to director of business development Shelly Hadad, who joined Mansion back in 2008.
The operator said the internal promotions were a reflection of the “calibre of internal talent and longevity within the Mansion Group” and would leave the company well positioned to face industry-wide challenges.
“The Group is very happy with the changes as it provides continuity to the management of the business at such an important time for the company’s development plans for this year and for the future, and in managing the ongoing challenges facing the Industry as a whole,” the statement said.
The firm has recently had to deal with a number of regulatory headwinds and last year pulled its poker product from the British market following changes to the jurisdiction’s licensing regime.
Furthermore, in February the Playtech-powered operator closed its doors to new casino customers in Germany, a move believed to have been prompted by recent changes to how VAT is calculated in the country.
Last year the company embarked on a major cost-cutting exercise which led to the transfer of some of its operations from Gibraltar to Bulgaria impacting around 80 employees.
