PokerStars launches space-themed VR poker room
New environment gives players a “truly interstellar poker experience,” with robots, aliens, and space-themed wearables
PokerStars has launched a new space-theme poker room for its VR product called PokerStars’ Galaxy Space Station.
The new environment gives players a “truly interstellar poker experience,” complete with robots, aliens, and space-themed wearables.
“We’ve seen PokerStars VR go from strength to strength with these updates,” said Severin Rasset, director of poker innovation and operations at PokerStars.
“In addition to the Macau Suite and the Showdown Saloon, we now have tables in the Milky Way and the ability to personalize your experience to new levels!”
Along with the new surroundings, the update offers a new layer of personalisation around wearables, and players can see all the items they’ve purchased in the new ‘Stash’ tab.
PokerStars VR is available on Oculus’ VR system, Oculus Quest, as well as Viveport and Steam.
“The experience of PokerStars VR is really one of a kind and its unique immersion and social poker experience has helped create a really engaged community,” added Rasset.
“PokerStars VR will continue its journey by delighting our players and providing a unique thrill and experience.”
The operator first began trialling VR concepts in September last year.
