Sky Bet to plug odds into Football League clubsâ mobile apps
Operator has teamed up with intechnologyWiFi to supply apps and football odds with Bradford City first to go live
Sky Bet has agreed a deal which will see the operator supply club-specific apps and betting opportunities for English Football League (EFL) sides, with the new service kicking-off with League One club Bradford City.
Last weekend, Bradford became the first club to benefit from a new partnership between the EFL and technology supplier intechnologyWiFi, an agreement which will see the two companies provide mobile applications and stadium WiFi networks to clubs at no cost.
As title sponsor of the EFL, Sky Bet will provide fans with the opportunity to place bets via their clubâs new mobile app both inside and outside the stadium, pre-match and in-play.
Furthermore, Sky Bet has agreed a revenue share deal which will boost the coffers of participating EFL clubs.
âThe launch of this app marks an exciting change for City fans and we are thrilled to be working with the EFL and intechnologyWiFi to be part of it,â Sky Betâs head of customer engagement Edwin Martin, said.
âAs well as revolutionising the betting experience for match-going fans, this landmark partnership will also see us pass on a share of revenue back to clubs.
âThis goes to the heart of what we aim to achieve as a brand and as a sponsor of the EFL, which is to make betting better for football fans.â
Natalie Duffield, CEO at intechnologyWiFi, added: âBradford City fans are set to enjoy a revolution to their match-day experience, whether inside or outside the stadium, through the power of our innovative mobile application and stadium WiFi network solution.
âWhatâs more, by using the app and placing bets on their team, Bantams fans will be actively making money for their club. Itâs a win â win all round.â
Speaking to eGaming Review this morning, additional EFL clubs are expected to launch similar mobile products in the future.
