Unibet looks to stand-out with mobile product launches
Stockholm-listed operator goes live with BetUp and voice activated betting products
Unibet has launched a new in-play pooled quiz competition as well as its voice activated bet placement feature, as the operator looks to differentiate its sportsbook product ahead of this summerâs all-important European Championships.
The second-screen live betting game BetUp, developed by supplier Commologic, was launched exclusively on Unibet earlier this month, and is also available as a separate app in the Apple Store.
BetUp customer entry fees are combined to create a prize pool which can be won by answering predictive questions during a particular football match, such as which team will win the next throw-in.
Players with the most points at the end of the game will receive a share of the pot with the firm hopeful the product will keep players on site during the duration of a match.
Unibetâs head of sportsbook, Erik Bäcklund, told eGaming Review the operator had received positive feedback from its customer base since the initial launch in six countries, including the UK and Sweden.
âOur customers have shown a big interest in the product so far, and 4,395 of them registered for the Manchester City versus PSG match this week, which is the record so far,â Bäcklund said.
âThe main feedback is around engagement and fun second-screen experience and we are also looking into a host of innovative product development to further enhance the player experience and attractiveness of the product,â he added.
Commologic CEO Tamir Berler added: âWe understand that every sports betting operator wants to improve engagement and reach new demographics, so we are delighted to have gone live with an innovative new product which does exactly that,â
âAs one of the industryâs most forward thinking operators, Unibet is the perfect partner to launch BetUP. They obviously see the value in the product and we are certain their customers are going to enjoy it,â he continued.
Meanwhile, the Stockholm-listed operator has also gone live with its Siri-like voice activated betting feature on the Unibet Sports Betting app in partnership with Artificial Solutions.
The new product, which was first revealed by EGR in February, enables customers to place a wager on selected markets through the phoneâs in-built microphone after customers have clicked the microphone icon found on the appâs homepage.
âNatural language interaction has enabled us to create a positive, simplified experience for our customers in what is a complex industry,â Will Mace, Unibet head of strategic development, said.
âAs speech enabled apps become more commonplace, people expect interactions to be intelligent, fast and responsive,â Mace added.
