Betfair updates sportsbook app ahead of Rugby World Cup
Operator launched new rugby union betting page ahead of tournament which begins next week
Betfair has ramped up its rugby union coverage in its iOS sportsbook app as part of a big upgrade in time for the start of the Rugby World Cup.
The firm described its in-app rugby offer as âmassively improvedâ and sees it place greater emphasis on the sport with a dedicated World Cup portal and additional markets.
Also included in the update is the addition of video streaming content to the cash out page as it continues to try an innovate within the cash out product offering.
Last month Betfair added partial cash to mobile for the first time and advertises its app with the tag-line âthe home of cash outâ, with the addition of further video content designed to keep users in-app for longer.
During Juneâs full year results, CEO Breon Corcoran highlighted product as a central driver of the firmâs growth, describing it as the âkey reason why customers join and stay with Betfairâ.
Betfairâs proposed merger with Paddy Power is expected to complete by Q1 2016, but Corcoran said during yesterdayâs analysts call that it would be business as usual until completion.
Although questions remain over exactly how Betfair and Paddy Power will integrate their technology following the merger.
