Sky Bet adds games to sportsbook app
First major update in six months sees cross-sell given centre stage as gaming content is added to iOS sportsbook
Sky Betting and Gaming has added a new navigation bar and in-app gaming content to its sportsbook app for the first time in a bid to boost cross-sell on the channel.
Version 5.0 of its flagship app sees the navigation bar give more prominent billing to the cash out functionality the firm introduced to mobile earlier this year as well as making it easier to place bets.
Meanwhile users will now be able to play roulette, blackjack and some slots content without having to switch to the firmâs dedicated casino app.
âThe thinking behind this is to ultimately create a better customer experience and to improve the look and feel of the interface,â Eddie Ross, Sky Betting and Gamingâs native apps product manager, told eGR Mobile Intelligence.
âIt offers customers the ability to play portrait versions of roulette, blackjack and a new slot game without leaving the sportsbook app â the first time weâve integrated games of this kind. We hope this will increase customer awareness of our full suite of gaming products,â he added.
The update is the first major addition to Sky Betâs iOS app since the operator brought cash out to mobile in January. Last year the firm achieved an industry first with the app when it integrated Touch ID functionality just weeks after the launch of iOS 8.
