Betfair updates exchange iOS app
Latest app changes introduce better navigation and bet management functions as operator takes step towards platform agnostic approach
Betfair has updated its iOS exchange app and made major changes to its desktop product as it moves towards a more seamless multi-platform approach with its core product.
The new updated exchange app includes improvements to the bet management section including a dedicated open bets tab in a move likely designed to increase trade volume among those accessing the exchange from mobile.
Bookmark functionality has also been added, allowing users to save their preferred markets and access them from the A-Z tab, while there have also been fixes to the PIN login system.
Betfairâs mobile exchange has been brought closer in line with the firmâs desktop offering with the news that the âclassicâ desktop exchange will be shuttered at the end of this month.
Exchange+, which was rolled out on an optional basis last year, will from August be the only option for customers as the âclassicâ view is turned off and features a UI more in-line with that currently available in the operatorâs native applications.
Last month Betfair reported in its FY15 results that it had taken £157.4m in mobile revenue, up 97% year-on-year, and that the channel accounted for 71% of total sportsbook revenues and 33% of gaming revenues, with 69% of UK casino customer using mobile in May.
CEO Breon Corcoran said at the time that the firmâs âTap Tap Boomâ advertising campaign had been effective in showing off the simplicity of using Betfair, particularly on mobile.
