This weekâs news round-up includes details of Betfredâs new Tote platform and France Pariâs mobile plans
Betfred confirmed it remains on track to launch the first phase of its multi-channel platform in May this year, almost a year after the operator outsourced its development to Sportech in a £9m deal last year. A new digital framework is being developed to allow tote betting on mobile devices and its roll-out, which is to take place over three phases, is scheduled to complete before the end of the year. Sportech is using its Quantum System and Digital Link betting technology in the development which will link customer accounts, enabling customers to deposit using one device and bet on another.
French sports betting firm France Pari meanwhile attributed a 43% year-on-year increase in Q4 revenues to the strong performance of its mobile sportsbook. Sports revenue jumped 46% year-on-year to â¬15.8m on the back of the launch of new mobile apps and total contribution to revenue from mobile devices now stands at around 40%, up 37 percentage points on the 2013 figure. The operator also confirmed it plans to launch tablet-optimised apps in H1 this year and more than a dozen mobile products throughout 2015.
Paf is to enter the Italian mobile gaming market through the purchase of Italy-facing operator Winga. The à land–based firm is to acquire all of Wingaâs assets, including its television channel Winga TV and operate it as a wholly owned subsidiary. Winga currently has mobile and tablet-optimised gaming apps however Paf has also hinted at the possible development of a sportsbook launch âin the next few yearsâ as it looks to expand on its product range.
Casino supplier CORE Gaming has partnered with compliance firm NMi to conduct complete testing of its HTML5 mobile titles to ensure they are ready to market in various jurisdictions. CORE Gaming chief commercial officer Mark Rehorst-Smith said NMi was an âideal fitâ for the business and would help support the studioâs plans to expand throughout 2015.
