Mobile powers Hills casino growth
Less than half of Q3 sportsbook turnover derived from mobile devices but the channel helps more than double casino revenue
Mobile continued to be a significant growth driver for William Hill after it powered the groupâs online performance in the casino vertical.
In sportsbook mobile wagers in Q3 increased 38% year-on-year and mobile accounted for almost half of William Hillâs total online sports betting turnover in the three months ended 30 September.
In-play betting turnover jumped by more than third throughout the period, far exceeding the 6% gain made in pre-match betting.
But it was gaming that was once again the firmâs most successful mobile product as mobile revenue for the vertical more than doubled, rising 116% year-on-year with 60% of revenues coming through the groupâs proprietary Vegas platform.
Mobile now accounts for 31% of total online gaming revenue, up from the 18% figure recorded in the corresponding period last year, with CEO James Henderson commenting that the firm had âcontinued to benefit from our investment in mobileâ.
In August Henderson hinted that further enhancements to the mobile Vegas product are in the pipeline, with the company developing a proprietary bonusing platform based around greater personalisation.
