Wednesday round-up 17/09
This weekâs Wednesday round-up includes operators preparing for todayâs release of iOS8 and Sky Poker exploring a B2B model
Paddy Power was one of a number of operators to update mobile apps ahead of todayâs release of iOS8. Its iPad sportsbook app was optimised for the new software in an update the operator labelled the âbiggest since we launchedâ. Cash out was also added, a first for the firmâs mobile applications, while push notifications and a new sporting results centre were integrated as well.
BetVictor also released a number of pre-iOS8 upgrades. The firm made a number of âimportant fixesâ in preparation for the software rollout, as well as the addition of a new cashier tab to facilitate faster payments and withdrawals. Each-way terms have been added to the appâs betslip view while minor bugs were also fixed.
Meanwhile Sky Poker revealed that it is exploring the possibility of developing a B2B model for its poker software. Speaking to sister publication eGaming Review, Sky Pokerâs head Richard Milner said discussions were underway. The firmâs mobile poker client has been developed in responsive HTML5 rather than Flash to remain highly device agnostic, and is able to optimise its design depending on the device and operating software.
Unibet subsidiary Maria is to launch a new mobile poker product next year using the same software as Unibet Poker. Maria closed its previous poker product when Unibet left Microgamingâs MPN network earlier this year, however the firm now intends to re-enter the vertical using its parent companyâs own software with adjustments made to correspond with the brandâs female-orientated image.
Elsewhere Betfair continued to update its mobile gaming applications by making a raft of changes to its iOS Arcade app. Search functionality has been improved in order to enable customers to search for specific titles, while bug fixes and other improvements were also made. Malta-licensed Mr Green also released an app update this week, adding support for WiFi-only iPads.
