Wednesday round-up 27/08
This weekâs news round-up includes Skyâs casino deal with Playtech and content deals for Unibet and Betfair
Sky Betting and Gaming has extended its partnership with software supplier Playtech to launch a new casino brand. Sky Casino will launch on mobile later this week and feature Playtechâs roulette, table slots and card games as well as its live dealer products, sitting alongside the operatorâs existing Sky Vegas casino brand. âPartnering with Playtech and utilising their industry leading casino platform allows us to create another exciting chapter in the development of Sky Betting and Gaming,â Conor Grant, director of products at Sky Bet, said.
The deal comes less than a week after Playtech revealed that it is to launch a new mobile live dealer product for Finnish gambling operator Rahaautomaattiyhistys (RAY) âin the coming weeksâ. The product will be broadcast from a purpose-built studio within RAYâs Espoo-based headquarters and feature a new concept which replaces traditional dealers with more casually dressed âpresentersâ who interact with customers more frequently.
Unibet has become the latest firm to sign a content deal with games supplier Odobo, giving it access to HTML5 casino games via Odoboâs Marketplace. The operator can select from a range of selected games and mobile titles and integrate them into its mobile casino app. âUnibet is a key player that offers Odobo stronger distribution in continental Europe and access to a substantial new player base,â Julian Jarvis, chief business affairs officer at Odobo, said.
Betfair tied up a new content deal this week, after agreeing a deal with Sweden-based casino supplier Net Entertainment. Betfair will gain access to NetEntâs suite of desktop and mobile casino products, which include branded titles such as Aliens. âThis agreement will further strengthen NetEntâs exposure on the UK market but also in other parts of Europe,â Bjorn Krantz, managing director at Net Entertainment Malta, said.
Betfair also rolled out a further update to its exchange betting app, making improvements to its in-line betting capabilities within the app. Betway also made improvements to its sports betting app by increasing the speed at which it runs and adding various new features, complementing the appâs redesign earlier this year.
