Bwin.party mobile gaming revenues up to 21%
More than one third of total sportsbook revenues now derived from mobile with more development eyed for Q3 2014
Bwin.party has revealed more than one third of its total sportsbook turnover and 21% of gaming revenue was derived from mobile devices during Q2 2014 as mobile performance across all of its verticals continued to improve.
Around 35% of sports betting stakes were derived from mobile devices in the three months ended 31 June 2014, up from the 21% figure during Q2 2013, while gaming revenues via mobile also rose from 9% to 21%.
In a trading update this morning, bwin.party chief executive Norbert Teufelberger said the firmâs mobile performance had been boosted by a number of new product initiatives which had improved its mobile sportsbook, casino and bingo apps.
A new HTML5 sportsbook was recently released in Spain and, after proving popular with Spanish players, will now be rolled-out across other markets throughout H2.
The operatorâs PartyPoker app received a major upgrade last month and this looks set to be complimented with new poker products on mobile that are set to be released in Q3, while a new Foxy Bingo app resulted in more than 80% of new customer sign-ups being processed through the mobile channel.
The mobile improvement takes bwin.party a step closer towards Teufelbergerâs target of deriving half of the operatorâs revenue from mobile devices by the end of 2015.
