William Hill sportsbook app surpasses two million downloads
World Cup provides timely download boost, with the app having been downloaded more than 80,000 times since the start of the tournament
William Hillâs iOS sportsbook application has surpassed the two million download landmark after receiving a World Cup boost.
The app exceeded 1.5 million downloads in March this year and has taken just three further months to add an additional 500,000 downloads, with the app having been downloaded 80,000 times since the start of the tournament last week.
âThis is a fantastic achievement and one of which we are extremely proud,â Juergen Reutter, operations director at William Hill Online, said.
âMobile is a fantastic way to engage with our customers anytime, anywhere and our iOS app has been fundamental in building that relationship.
âTo pass two million downloads shows we are listening to our customers and giving them the products and services they demand,â he added.
William Hillâs sportsbook app was originally launched in 2012 with the operator most recently extending its reach into Spain and Italy prior to the World Cupâs start.
The operator launched an Android equivalent of the app in March this year, but was criticised in the same month after mobile phone users were automatically redirected to the appâs App Store listing â a fault the operator attributed to a supplier error.
