Betfair launches new iOS sportsbook
Operator overhauls sportsbook app with a range of new features building on recent mobile improvements
Betfair has released an entirely new iOS sportsbook app just a week before the football World Cup with a host of new features including casino content, yes/no betting and single sign-on.
The sportsbook has been overhauled and given a new design, while navigation through the app has also been remodelled and made more intuitive.
Live video streaming for various sports including football, horse racing and darts has been added, replicating recent moves made by William Hill and Ladbrokes.
Betfair has also echoed Ladbrokes by revamping its in-play betting product on the platform, adding various new markets and data visualisation capabilities.
Casino content has also been integrated for the first time, and app also links to Betfairâs exchange app for the first time to allow customers to seamlessly switch between the two.
Betfairâs new Yes/No betting product â a simplified form of betting with customers placing stakes on the outcome of a yes or no question â has also made its way onto the sportsbook.
An iPad-optimised version of the new sportsbook has also been released, with display and navigation features taking advantage of the increased screen size.
Betfair has made considerable efforts to revamp its mobile product portfolio in recent months as part of what a company spokesperson labelled a âcycle of developmentâ.
And the new sportsbook has also coincided with the launch of a new marketing campaign aimed at recreational punters featuring a giant octopus and the new strapline âThis is Playâ, announced days after the operator accepted responsibility for a publicity stunt held in Londonâs Oxford Circus.
