Betclic revenues boosted by mobile performance
Operator encouraged as dot.fr mobile business records 70% year-on-year increase in turnoverÂ
Betclic Everest Group recorded a 70% year-on-year increase in Q1 2014 mobile turnover for its Betclic.fr business as the operator took advantage of the growing French sports betting market.
The operator revealed that almost two-thirds of its customer base was now betting on mobile, helping contribute towards a 24% year-on-year increase in total sports betting turnover.
âThese results are very encouraging in this major World Cup year and come to reward the actions undertaken by the group,â Marc Guico, managing director of France for Betclic Everest Group, said.
âWe look to bring our customers the widest number of markets accompanied with an innovative mobile offering.â
Franceâs sports betting market has continued to go from strength to strength in recent months and is up 22% year-on-year overall according to figures released last week by French regulator ARJEL.
It attributed the rise to renewed attractiveness of Franceâs domestic football competitions with other operators such as former monopoly PMU also recording increases in sports betting turnover.
