Betfair welcomes Price Rush to mobile
Sportsbook app updated to feature new âgame changingâ Price Rush product
Betfair has updated its fixed-odds sportsbook app to include the operatorâs new Price Rush product having gradually introduced it on its desktop site from November.
Price Rush leverages liquidity on the operatorâs betting exchange to offer price promotions on selected markets and bets, with Betfair keen to use it as a customer acquisition tool.
âObviously weâre forgoing a bit of margin here, but what we hope to demonstrate â and it is yet to be proven â is that customers will⦠enjoy this, stay longer and transact more,â Breon Corcoran, CEO at Betfair, said during the firmâs results presentation earlier this month.
The operator has slowly been integrating Price Rush across its football markets and first trialled it with particular horseracing bets during this monthâs Cheltenham Festival, and the launch of a mobile equivalent suggests Betfair are happy with its progress to date.
Betfairâs mobile sportsbook is a key acquisition channel for the firm with mobile accounting for the âmajorityâ of its new activations in the groupâs H1 results.
Revenue from Betfairâs fixed-odds sportsbook grew 27% year-on-year to £9.5m for the three months ended 31 January 2014, largely driven by a rise in mobile wagering with 60% of total sportsbook stakes made on mobile devices.
