Tablet âcentralâ to future Paddy Power growth
CEO Patrick Kennedy claims operator is outperforming its competitors in terms of tablet revenue
Increased development of proprietary tablet products will be central to Paddy Powerâs future growth, the operatorâs CEO Patrick Kennedy has claimed.
Discussing the Irish firmâs full-year results this morning, Kennedy revealed that total revenue from mobile devices for the year ended 31 December 2013 grew 73% year-on-year to â¬212m, representative of 45% of total online revenue.
The growth contributed towards a 10% increase in digital profits for the year, and Kennedy claimed the operator to be outperforming its competitors in online gaming.
He cited an increased investment in the development of mobile products, with new games and casino apps optimised for tablet devices having been released.
âFurther product initiatives this year will present a more âjoined upâ experience across retail and online channels to serve multi-channel customers,â said Kennedy.
Throughout 2013 Paddy Power released some 200 new games â of which more than 60% were optimised for mobile devices â with further tablet-optimised apps scheduled to be released later this year.
The most recent addition to its mobile portfolio was a native iPad app released in January this year, which Paddys claimed was the first sports betting designed specifically for the device.
