Paddy Power adds cash-out, launches messenger
Paddy Power updates its flagship iOS sportsbook betting app with a new âcash-outâ facility and launches innovative messenger app
Paddy Power has added Cash Out functionality to its flagship sportsbook app just a few days after the launch of its new Messenger app as it begins to roll out a series of new mobile products.
Launching on the Apple App Store this morning, the cash out function allows users to sell their single bets back before the bet is settled.
It’s currently only available on selected football WDW and outright markets, but more markets are expected to be added at a late date.
The update also includes improved streaming of live horse races and comes just days after the Irish operatorâs new personalisation focused âPaddy Power Messengerâ app launched.
The Messenger app is aimed at increasing personalisation of mobile betting with users using text commands to request odds or instantly place bets with Paddy Power.
Users can then choose what live updates they receive from games they have bet on as well as choosing to receive offers and promotions based on teams and sports they have bet on.
The app is designed to increase the speed with which its users can place bets and the stripped down interface with a look closer to Whats App than a traditional mobile sportsbook is a clear attempt to differentiate in an already crowded market.
It is not expected to be the only launch from the Irish Operator in this quarter  as Paddy Power previously announced plans to launch a range of new in-house developed apps by its Bulgaria-based Cayetano subsidiary during the first half of 2014.
The sportsbook launches and updates are expected to be followed by a number of gaming launches with a focus on tablet apps as the firm looks to boost its mobile gaming revenues.
