Campaign of the month: This is London
Sadiq Khan champions home city ahead of Euro 2020 with keepy-uppy skills
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan features in a new advertising campaign championing London ahead of the upcoming Euro 2020 international football tournament.
The Labour politician, who recently secured a second term as Mayor after fending off competition from Tory Shaun Bailey, stars alongside everyday Londoners in the 60-second short.
‘This is London’ is voiced by and features TV sports presenter Seema Jaswal, as well as professional freestyler Mo Omar.
The short was created by agency 20ten and also features Khan himself testing out his touch with a keepy-uppy challenge.
London’s Wembley Stadium will place host to eight matches throughout the tournament, including both semi-finals and the final on 11 July.
Dan Bacon, creative director at 20ten said: “The ambition for the brief was to create a hero film rooted in the essence of what is London. Conceived and created using home-grown talent to create a unique piece of content, it’s a visual expression of the diversity of our town.
“A journey across the city, taking in the energy and positivity of cultures, communities and conversations from all aspects of London life, juxtaposed with football references. We hope that everyone is inspired to get back out there and discover more this summer – and maybe take in a couple of games too,” he added.
