Coral signs Premier League sponsorship deal
Operator becomes official betting partner of EPL new boys Norwich City as Betfair signs similar deal with Leicester City
Coral has signed up to become the official betting partner of Premier League new boys Norwich City in a deal that will see the sponsor’s name attached to the club’s prestigious Barclay Stand.
The bookmaker will operate betting points throughout Norwich City’s Carrow Road stadium and sponsor the club’s historic stand, which will be renamed the Barclay Stand sponsored by Coral and feature the bookmaker’s branding.
The deal, which comes just days before the start of the new football season, will also see Coral offer Norwich City fans a range of sign-up deals and match-day specials and sponsor away days to reduce the cost for supporters.
“Throughout the season, Coral will be offering Norwich fans some excellent betting offers both online, on mobile, in-shop and through our in-stadia betting kiosks at Carrow Road,” Matt Prevost, Coral brand director, said.
“We are especially honoured to be sponsoring the Barclay Stand, as we recognise the special place the stand has in the history of the club and the hearts of Norwich fans,” he added.
The agreement, which will run for at least two years, sees Norwich City, who won promotion via the play-offs last season, join Everton Football Club on Coral’s roster of English Premier League partners.
The partnership was negotiated by sports marketing agency BD Sport Rights.
News of the agreement comes as Betfair revealed it had signed a deal to become the official betting partner of EPL club Leicester City.
Betfair said it would provide “great offers” exclusive to Leicester City supporters during the course of the 2015-16 season with the east Midlands club joining Aston Villa in becoming a Betfair betting partner.
“Leicester is a forward thinking club that shares our passion for innovation and we look forward to growing a successful relationship over the course of the upcoming season,” Stephen Mault, Betfair’s head of media, sponsorship & PR, said.
