BoyleSports strikes Birmingham City sponsorship deal
Irish bookmaker builds on UK retail launch with the Blues’ “biggest deal in a decade”
Irish bookmaker BoyleSports has agreed a deal with Birmingham City to sponsor the Championship club until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
The agreement, reportedly Birmingham’s biggest sponsorship deal in more than a decade, will see the BoyleSports logo adorn the front of the men’s team playing kit and replica shirts.
The operator is also hoping to “ingrain the BoyleSports brand into the greater Birmingham community” and “forge a long-lasting relationship with the people of the city through local support”.
BoyleSports head of communications Leon Blanche said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be on board and proud to be pledging ourselves as Birmingham City’s principal partner.
“It’s an honour to be joining forces with a club steeped in history and tradition and we believe it’s a perfect match between a club and company on the same page in terms of our huge ambitions.”
The sponsorship agreement follows BoyleSports’ strategic move into the UK retail market after it bought Birmingham-based bookie, Wilf Gilbert, earlier this week.
It was reported BoyleSports had acquired 13 betting shops in the Midlands for an undisclosed sum.
